Early efforts to Develop Hovercraft
have been many attempts to understand the principles of high air pressure below
hulls and wings. To a great extent, the majority of these can be termed
"ground effect" or "water effect" vehicles rather than
hovercraft. The principal difference is that a hovercraft can lift itself while
still, whereas the majority of other designs require forward motion to create

pressure under it. Only when in motion could the craft trap air under the
front, increasing lift. The vessel also required a depth of water to operate
and could not transition to land or other surfaces. Designed as a fast torpedo
boat, the Versuchsgleitboot had a top speed over 32 knots (59 km/h). It was thoroughly tested
and even armed with torpedoes and machine guns for operation in the Adriatic.

eventually scrapped due to the lack of interest and perceived need, and its

Andrew Kucher of Ford began experimenting with the "Levapad" concept,
metal disks with pressurized air blown through a hole in the center. Levapads
do not offer stability on their own. Several must be used together to support a
load above them. Lacking a skirt, the pads had to remain very close to the
running surface. He initially imagined these being used in place of casters and
wheels in factories and warehouses, where the concrete floors offered the
smoothness required for operation. By the 1950s, Ford showed a number of toy
models of cars using the system, but mainly proposed its use as a replacement
for wheels on trains, with the Levapads running close to the surface of
Finnish aero engineer Toivo J. Kaario began designing a developed version of a
vessel using an air cushion and built a prototype Pintaliitäjä (Surface Soarer), in 1937. Kaario's design included the modern
features of a lift engine blowing air into a flexible envelope for lift. Kaario
never received funding to build his design, however.[citation
needed] Kaario's efforts were followed closely in the Soviet
Union by Vladimir Levkov, who returned to the solid-sided design of the Versuchsgleitboot. Levkov designed and built a number of similar craft during the 1930s,
and his L-5 fast-attack boat reached 70 knots (130 km/h) in testing.
However, the start of World War II put an end to Levkov's development work.
World War II, an engineer in the United States of America, Charles Fletcher,
invented a walled air cushion vehicle, the Glidemobile. Because the
project was classified by the U.S. government, Fletcher could not file a

excessive speed, damage that was never allowed to be repaired, and was from

into the space between the sheets it exited the bottom of the skirt in the same
way it formerly exited the bottom of the fuselage, re-creating the same
momentum curtain, but this time at some distance from the bottom of the craft.

the ability to climb over obstacles almost as high as the skirt.[citation

to Westland, who had recently taken over Saunders Roe's interest in the
hovercraft. Experiments with the skirt design demonstrated a problem; it was
originally expected that pressure applied to the outside of the skirt would
bend it inward, and the now-displaced airflow would cause it to pop back out.
What actually happened is that the slight narrowing of the distance between the
walls resulted in less airflow, which in turn led to more air loss under that
section of the skirt. The fuselage above this area would drop due to the loss
of lift at that point, and this led to further pressure on the skirt.
considerable experimentation, Denys Bliss at Hovercraft Development Ltd. found
the solution to this problem. Instead of using two separate rubber sheets to
form the skirt, a single sheet of rubber was bent into a U shape to provide
both sides, with slots cut into the bottom of the U forming the annular vent.
When deforming pressure was applied to the outside of this design, air pressure
in the rest of the skirt forced the inner wall to move in as well, keeping the
channel open. Although there was some deformation of the curtain, the airflow
within the skirt was maintained and through natural factors such as escape of
air and balance of pressure within the skirt.

The weekend was predicted to be cold, damp and in general misserable but an invite from our friends at the Amateur Hovercraft Racing Event meant that the fun had arrived and the weekend was something to look forward to.
We were made very welcome upon arrival and a Hot Dog and a Hot Cup Of Tea was a real welcome of what was to come. These guys are simply so exciting to watch and offer thrills a plenty and if they come to a location near you, I would urge you to go and watch.

If we are to belive the weather office in the UK we must accept their findings that the UK is in sever drought. In God's own county of Yorkshire, we have had three weeks of drought by day and drought by night, so much drought that the rivers are all in flood and the reservoirs are all overflowing which is a pretty sight to see but after three weeks of drought falling from the skies, I'm fed up of drought.
For all of our friends and families in the South of England it's a totally different story. They are suffering a hose pipe ban and a sever lack of water to which one wonders why we in the north can't help in some way. We have buckets of drought to spare but with no practicle solution to sending it to you. The weekend outlook is for up to 2 inches of rain.... "er" drought to fall in my area with even more for the South. I suppose the weather experts will then tell us it's all fallen in the wrong places !!!.
On the possitive side, it's great weather for a Hoverpod as the craft will travel across just about any surface whether it is water or land and as such the severe climate changes around the globe is something that F1 Hoverpod
have taken on board as part of it's development process for the future. A small light vehicle to which has the ability to travel at high speed across water, ice, snow or land was many advantages over conventional products to which have their own natural restrictions. The UK may be in drought but F1 Hoverpod is leading the way in technology for the future climate changes and potential disasters facing the world.Team Manager

Latest News from F1 Hoverpod Ltd
The exciting news from the home front about F1 Hoverpod Ltd is in many ways a
continuation of developments surrounding the business and team continues going
from strength to strength in a very positive and efficient way, all of this on
the back of what was at huge victory in the early part of 2012 regarding the
very damming comments posted on the internet of which in the end the truth
finally came out. Whilst the truth was all that was sought from the team, the
deleting of such content was something that all of the big three major search
engines were so sympathetic to our plight and were so professional in the way
they dealt with the problem and were so very kind in assisting in the removal of
the now proven to be libel comments from the internet under the instruction and
guidance of the independent body “Chilling
Effects”. The panel of which are a body of professional experts chosen from
the legal world as well as academia and who combine there efforts to assess the
content and all of the trace elements of where, why and who posted such
information and confer to conclude and base the final outcome/decision upon the
reality and not the gossip. The outcome was a total victory for F1 Hoverpod who was totally exonerated
of any wrong doing and now the Lawyers take up the task of damages action which
now starts in regards to the party or parties whom posted such content.
It’s now late March and has seen plenty of good progress
within the team of F1 Hoverpod Ltd
and with the corporate structure and board changes amongst some of the
developments from within the group of
companies, it’s been a very welcome and pleasant surprise that arrived in early
March with an invite from a very prestigious Institution requesting that the
team present a lecture to the academics regarding the pathway and developments
of F1 Hoverpod and its partner

has attracted so much media and personal interest from around the globe, in

The news from the front line in respect of F1 Hoverpod Ltd is in many ways a

F1 Hoverpod® Ltd
It’s been rather a wonderful year so far, it all started
with the good news of the victory over the alleged comments now proven to be
unfounded and unsupported allegations (lies) posted by a vicious and malicious
person to which the authorities are now pursuing and I assume at the end an
compensation claim may be in the offering. The very best thing that came out of
the whole five (5) year exercise was the good working relationship to which was
formed by F1 Hoverpod Ltd and the big
three search engines and at this point I wish to extend our very best wishes to
them all and a huge thank you for the kind and sensitive way in which the whole
matter was handled.
February brought out yet more support from some huge names
from the world of Motor Sport and from the Institutions to which we have worked
with in the past, it’s a nice feeling to rise up and stand back on the success
stand where our pride and respect has been fully restored. The success has gone
as far as to an invite to speak at a very well respected audience in regards to
the progress of F1 Hoverpod and the highs and lows along the way.
The reinstating of good standing and trust
shown by many of our partners has not gone unnoticed and I along with the whole
team are eternally grateful for the support shown.
March has brought many business meetings and interested
parties to the table from the close nit community within the Investment Banking

Start of New Year
Well, it's all go here at team HQ and for the staff and team members there is
some Breaking News to which is placed on top of everything else of which is
happening and all of which are gaining pace and momentum.
The important announcement for today is in reference to the
alleged Posting of Material considered to be of a libel nature on a web site
known as Rip off Report and the
identity of the posting was assumed to be protected. Not so and the Reaction of
which was that after a major investigation by Bing, Yahoo and Google combined
with a forensic team of internet science experts, the content of said posting
was considered and proven to be wholly untrue and without foundation. Whilst I’m
not at liberty to say who posted the slander and libel comments to the web site
Ripoff Report, what I can say is the
International Reaction to such comments will be felt throughout the Hovercraft
fraternity to which has an extremely loyal fan base.
The Conclusion by all three (3) of the major search engine
internet operators was to comply with the law as set out in the countries affected
by said comments and I am pleased to say that those very damming comments have
been removed in full. The action and investigation has taken some 5 years in
total to conclude and whilst the team at F1
Hoverpod Ltd and it’s associate F1
Hoverpod Racing Ltd have had to burden the assumed guilty by so many, the perpetrator
has simply hidden behind a IP address to which they assumed was safe. “Not So”
I’m glad to confirm.
Now that F1 Hoverpod
has managed to confirm a 100% clear conscience and maintain its dignity, its
business as usual and back to the plan and brining the world a brand new Motor
Sport where the whole family can join in and enjoy.

Well...............phew... I'ts all behind us now. The Christmas party, the new years bash and who knows what happened in between. Anyway, they came the saw and they conquered was the motto but it was all a case of letting of steam for a hard year just gone and now we start the developments of the new year and what a year we have in store for you all with F1 Hoverpod Ltd
I have been sharing with you all through the blogs of some new members about to be joining and appointed to the Management Team and Board of F1 Hoverpod Ltd and Im excited to say that process is now underway. The delicate process of assuring and securing the right person for the task is one to which has been dealt with in a very professional and possitive way and I'm delighted to say the first of several new appointemts designed to strengthen the board has taken place, with even more to follow.
The new member has been selected and is now in the process of formalities and has a very well documents history as a CEO of one of Hong Kong's most successull companies and a reputation of success globally. The new board member is qualified in Law and business accountancy and with over 25 years of history in both International Investment Banking and Business Consultancy, all I can say today is the whole team at F1 Hoverpod Ltd
and it's group members are truly excitied today with even more good news to come.
